Q: Which is more comfortable? A crook handle or a support handle?
A: The support handle is preferred four to one. The shaft gives the support, not the handle.

Q: Why does the cane need a rubber tip?
A: Without a rubber tip, the cane can slip. Worn tips should be replaced.

Q: How do I know what length is correct?
A: Go to the "How To Order" page, all the info you need to know to get the right sized cane is there.

Q: What weight cane do I need?
A: Body weight suggests the cane's weight. The size of the shaft and the strength of the material increases with body weight. Call for assistance. 3/4" diameter (Ladies) Birch, Dymondwood?, Ebony; 7/8" diameter (Ladies) Birch, Oak, Maple, Walnut, (Men) Ebony, Dymondwood?, 1" diameter (Men) Oak, Maple, and Walnut.

Q: What use is the strap?
A: The strap is made by us and is made of elastic and webbing strap material. We always choose a color that best matches the cane. The strap can be used over the hand while walking or not. It's your choice. The strap is a handling device which is very useful when shopping, looking at merchandise,or writing checks. If you find the strap is not being used it can be safely removed. If the strap becomes unusable we can mail you another one and it can easily be replaced by removing the rubber tip, slipping on the strap and then replacing the rubber tip again.

Q: Is there a correct way to walk with a cane or stick?
A: Follow nature. Humans walk with the opposite arm and leg moving in unison. So, use the stick in the hand opposite to the side needing support. If however this is not comfortable after practice then always use the cane in a way which assists you and lessens the pain.

Q: What sort of delivery time can I expect?
A: Times vary because of distance traveling to your destination. Please call if time is important. Otherwise, we always ship within one working day of receiving your order. Most orders are filled the same day. On occasion there might be a delay because of being out of stock but we always advise you of this and ask what you would like us to do.

Q: Can a cane be returned for a refund and/or exchange?
A: If a cane has not been cut shorter than 33", initials have not been engraved onto it, then it can be returned. However, we do not refund shipping, and there is a 10% re-stocking fee for a return other than because of our error.

Q: Can I unscrew the handle and put it on another cane?
A: No! All our canes are securely fastened with a steel stud and epoxy. A handle or cane which unscrews tends to unscrew at the wrong time!

Q: Can you refinish my cane?
A: We only refinish the Maple, Ebony, and Rosewood. Cost is $50.00.

Q: I have a cane handle. Can you make a shaft for it?
A: Yes! We can make shafts for antiques and other handles if they are adaptable. Please check our custom canes in both Men's and Womens ALL WOOD categories for choice of woods. However, we do reserve the right to refuse if when received the handle is not suitable for mounting.

Q: Can a "Brandy Cane" or a "Sword Cane" be used for support?
A: No. These do not make good support canes because the shafts are hollow and the handles can be taken off. They also cannot be shortened.

Q: Can you obtain canes which are not shown on this Web Site?
A: Yes, quite often we can. Please call and describe what you want.

Q: How can I enter the length of the cane?
A: On the cane information page, if you have bought a cane from us before, simply choose your name from the dropdown menu.

If you've never purchased a cane from us before, when you are ready to check out, you will be taken to a page where you can enter the details that we need in order to process your cane order.

If you are ordering a cane for someone else, you can enter their info at this time.

Q: What will my shipping costs be?
A: Go ahead and follow the steps to order the cane or item you are interested in then during the ordering process steps you come to the "choices of shipping" section where the costs to your destination (local, USA, or overseas) will be displayed. If you wish to cancel the order at this step simply go to your shopping cart, change the quantity to 0, then update the cart. This will nullify your order.
